If you’re interested in just interacting with the animals and heading back to the ship, this is the tour for you. Where you’ll be able to head straight over to AJ’S Monkeys and Sloths Park spending time with the white-faced monkeys, hugging sloths, holding some beautiful birds and more. All while hearing interesting facts about the animals from your guide.

We visited Aj’s back in September 2021 as part of a cruise tour package. We had an excellent time here. The sloths were adorable and gentle and we were not rushed through any part of the tour. For us it was one of those once in a lifetime moments getting to hold the sloths and when we moved over to the monkeys that was so special too. They were all over us , some people the monkeys had to be bribed with a treat to sit on there shoulders but for me I had three or four on me at a time. If we ever get to go back to Roatan, I will definitely go back.

This is the place to go! As a vacation and dive resort owner, the family feel and flexibility they give me to bring guest out is incredible, guides are great and the animals are well taken care off! Always a blast for my guest!

We recently (April 2022) visited AJ’s while on a cruise and booked the monkey and sloth visit. We did not book this through the cruise line because the official tour was sold out, but after reading other review figures we would take a chance on this company. Best decision made. The cost was more than half off and we were not part of a huge group. The animals seems well taken care of and the staff were very knowledgeable. Our group was never rushed to from any areas. We were able to hold the animals as long as we wanted. When we return to Honduras I will definitely book this.

We stopped in on a Monday afternoon during the off-season in Roatan, we had the place to ourselves! Our tour (and guide) was very personable, knowledgable and made us laugh with many jokes throughout the visit. The animals appeared to be well cared for and looked very healthy! We had such a blast holding the sloaths (Turbo and Arturo) and the pick pocketing Capuchin monkeys was a once in a lifetime experience. We recently visited AJ’s (Oct 2022) and had an amazing time! I waited for over a year to finally get to hold a sloth and the experience was better than I could have ever imagined. Flash was so adorable and gentle. I wanted to take him home with me! My husband and I had a great time and Dylan our guide with the sloths was wonderful. He provided us with so much information about sloths that we did not know and allowed us ample time to hold and pet the sloths. It was both an educational excursion and a fun one!. We will be returning in February 2023!

AJ’s is so great! Our guide, Jake was very knowledgeable and interactive with us. He even took great pictures and videos of us with the animals. Turbo the sloth is so cute. Don’t forget when you get to the monkeys to remove hair clips!! Haha unless you want to lose it! We definitely recommend AJ’s Monkeys and Sloths!

My family took this tour November 5, 2022 and it was lots of fun and very informative. We spent about an hour with sloths and monkeys, but also guinea pigs, parrots, and macaws! The team there do an excellent job of providing information about all the animals in their care as well as making the tour very hands on and fun! If you have your own transportation, the tour is only $15 in cash. They are doing an important job caring for these animals at the sanctuary and tourists should support this effort with their visits.

We visited AJ’s in March of 2023 and had a great time!! The sloths are adorable, we got to hold Flash and Sofia and could have stayed with them all day. The monkeys are a lot of fun, be sure to listen and take EVERYTHING out of your pockets and hair! The red macaws are beautiful!! The people were great throughout the experience and made sure we enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend AJ’s to anyone traveling to Roatan!!

AJ’s Monkeys and Sloths was an amazing excursion for my family. It was so easy to book this trip straight through the company and our driver Jensen was waiting for us at port. We had so much fun and Jensen was an incredible guide that took us for an authentic Honduran lunch and back to port. I can not recommend AJ’s enough and definitely ask for Jensen!!!

Our family visited in January 2024. AJ’s was definitely one of the highlights of our cruise. We reserved in advance of the cruise, as most of the excursions were too pricey. Email communication for the reservation was great, but we did not get detailed information on how or where to meet the driver and had to wait quite a while (lots of traffic near port) because they came early and we were not yet off our ship. Charlotte, our driver, was very friendly and provided information about the island on the 25-30 minute drive from the Coxen Hole port. The animal sanctuary was fun, and the guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We were not rushed about holding the animals. We were all a bit anxious about the monkeys, and it was every bit as wild and crazy as we’d expected. The creatures treated us like we were a human jungle gym! I would recommend the guide ask his guests before putting cereal in their hair for the monkeys to pick out while sitting on their heads. That was kind of gross. I used half a bottle of shampoo and conditioner that afternoon! Overall, it was a great and very memorable experience that kept us laughing throughout the day. My favorite photo is of my daughter being pick-pocketed by two monkeys at the same time, one on each side. They know where to look for goodies!

We visited AJs Monkeys and Sloths last week (Feb 2024) and had a fantastic time!! The animals at this sanctuary are well cared for and the guides (including Dylan) are extremely friendly, caring and knowledgeable. We had lots of fun with the guinea pigs, macaws and monkeys, but the highlight was definitely the sloths, they were incredible. We were all able to hold one and weren’t rushed at all. This was a lifelong dream of mine to hold a sloth, and I can’t thank AJs enough for such an amazing experience!! It was easy to book directly through the website. The fee is very reasonable, communication was great, and transportation from our cruise ship was included. I highly recommend AJ’s Monkeys & Sloths and would love to visit them again!!!
