Where you’ll be able to head straight over to AJ’S Monkeys and Sloths Park spending time with the white-faced monkeys, hugging sloths, holding some beautiful birds and more. All while hearing interesting facts about the animals from your guide.

We visited Aj’s back in September 2021 as part of a cruise tour package. We had an excellent time here. The sloths were adorable and gentle and we were not rushed through any part of the tour. For us it was one of those once in a lifetime moments getting to hold the sloths and when we moved over to the monkeys that was so special too. They were all over us , some people the monkeys had to be bribed with a treat to sit on there shoulders but for me I had three or four on me at a time. If we ever get to go back to Roatan, I will definitely go back.

This is the place to go! As a vacation and dive resort owner, the family feel and flexibility they give me to bring guest out is incredible, guides are great and the animals are well taken care off! Always a blast for my guest!

We recently (April 2022) visited AJ’s while on a cruise and booked the monkey and sloth visit. We did not book this through the cruise line because the official tour was sold out, but after reading other review figures we would take a chance on this company. Best decision made. The cost was more than half off and we were not part of a huge group. The animals seems well taken care of and the staff were very knowledgeable. Our group was never rushed to from any areas. We were able to hold the animals as long as we wanted. When we return to Honduras I will definitely book this.

We stopped in on a Monday afternoon during the off-season in Roatan, we had the place to ourselves! Our tour (and guide) was very personable, knowledgable and made us laugh with many jokes throughout the visit. The animals appeared to be well cared for and looked very healthy! We had such a blast holding the sloaths (Turbo and Arturo) and the pick pocketing Capuchin monkeys was a once in a lifetime experience. We recently visited AJ’s (Oct 2022) and had an amazing time! I waited for over a year to finally get to hold a sloth and the experience was better than I could have ever imagined. Flash was so adorable and gentle. I wanted to take him home with me! My husband and I had a great time and Dylan our guide with the sloths was wonderful. He provided us with so much information about sloths that we did not know and allowed us ample time to hold and pet the sloths. It was both an educational excursion and a fun one!. We will be returning in February 2023!

AJ’s is so great! Our guide, Jake was very knowledgeable and interactive with us. He even took great pictures and videos of us with the animals. Turbo the sloth is so cute. Don’t forget when you get to the monkeys to remove hair clips!! Haha unless you want to lose it! We definitely recommend AJ’s Monkeys and Sloths!

My family took this tour November 5, 2022 and it was lots of fun and very informative. We spent about an hour with sloths and monkeys, but also guinea pigs, parrots, and macaws! The team there do an excellent job of providing information about all the animals in their care as well as making the tour very hands on and fun! If you have your own transportation, the tour is only $15 in cash. They are doing an important job caring for these animals at the sanctuary and tourists should support this effort with their visits.

We visited AJ’s in March of 2023 and had a great time!! The sloths are adorable, we got to hold Flash and Sofia and could have stayed with them all day. The monkeys are a lot of fun, be sure to listen and take EVERYTHING out of your pockets and hair! The red macaws are beautiful!! The people were great throughout the experience and made sure we enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend AJ’s to anyone traveling to Roatan!!

AJ’s Monkeys and Sloths was an amazing excursion for my family. It was so easy to book this trip straight through the company and our driver Jensen was waiting for us at port. We had so much fun and Jensen was an incredible guide that took us for an authentic Honduran lunch and back to port. I can not recommend AJ’s enough and definitely ask for Jensen!!!

Our family visited in January 2024. AJ’s was definitely one of the highlights of our cruise. We reserved in advance of the cruise, as most of the excursions were too pricey. Email communication for the reservation was great, but we did not get detailed information on how or where to meet the driver and had to wait quite a while (lots of traffic near port) because they came early and we were not yet off our ship. Charlotte, our driver, was very friendly and provided information about the island on the 25-30 minute drive from the Coxen Hole port. The animal sanctuary was fun, and the guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We were not rushed about holding the animals. We were all a bit anxious about the monkeys, and it was every bit as wild and crazy as we’d expected. The creatures treated us like we were a human jungle gym! I would recommend the guide ask his guests before putting cereal in their hair for the monkeys to pick out while sitting on their heads. That was kind of gross. I used half a bottle of shampoo and conditioner that afternoon! Overall, it was a great and very memorable experience that kept us laughing throughout the day. My favorite photo is of my daughter being pick-pocketed by two monkeys at the same time, one on each side. They know where to look for goodies!

We visited AJs Monkeys and Sloths last week (Feb 2024) and had a fantastic time!! The animals at this sanctuary are well cared for and the guides (including Dylan) are extremely friendly, caring and knowledgeable. We had lots of fun with the guinea pigs, macaws and monkeys, but the highlight was definitely the sloths, they were incredible. We were all able to hold one and weren’t rushed at all. This was a lifelong dream of mine to hold a sloth, and I can’t thank AJs enough for such an amazing experience!! It was easy to book directly through the website. The fee is very reasonable, communication was great, and transportation from our cruise ship was included. I highly recommend AJ’s Monkeys & Sloths and would love to visit them again!!!

I visited from a cruise stop and had a blast, the sloths were my favourite and I wanted to work there so I could always hug one.
I wasn’t rushed and I got a free hair massage from the capuchin monkeys.

Omg. This was the best!. Jist got back. There were 7 in our group and it was great. Took our time with sloths, birds and monkeys. All the anals loved to interacf. We booked directly with AJ and jad a private driver pick us up
And stay with is throughout
Thery all were very frie dly and nice. Agai. We werw the only 8 there. When we were do e able to ordef pictires and because we booked directly, package deal was 20.00. I recommend this tour highly and will do again

If you are looking for a personalized, no rush excursion to visit the sloths and monkeys, this is the place! Communication was great from the very beginning. We had a party of 7 and our driver Tek was there to pick us up as soon as the ship docked, just as was communicated. He stayed with us the entire time and drove us back to the ship. This was a nice – no worries about who and when someone will be there to take you back. The staff was very knowledgeable, and they were fun! We were not rushed at all throughout the entire tour. We were even asked if we wanted to go back and revisit any of the animals. They also take pictures and sell them for a very reasonable price. This was a great excursion, and we will definitely be back if we make it to Roatan again!

We visited AJ’s on 12/24/24. I was looking forward to this experience so much and I was not disappointed. We did the Behind the scenes Island Tour and Jenson was our driver! He was an excellent guide. We got to see a lot of the island while traveling to each destination. We had plenty of time for a bit of shopping at both the chocolate and rum tasting. The monkey and sloth experience was amazing. We got to hold Victoria, she was a great snuggler. We definitely recommend AJ’s!

AJ’s was an amazing experience. We arrived shortly after they opened to beat the crowds and it was worth it. Jake was our guide (although another gentleman helped) and both were informative and hilarious. The sloth was adorable, but the monkeys were the most entertaining. At the end of the tour I didn’t want to leave. This hands on experience was captured in photos for our family to enjoy for many years to come.

Visiting the sloths and monkeys was awesome. The guides made sure each person in our group had plenty of time to interact with each animal, never rushing you. It was an experience enjoyed by everyone in our family- toddler age to teens to seniors, and one that won’t quickly be forgotten.
Only negative was the transportation- the info said they would be waiting for us but no one was there. It was nerve wracking walking out of the port area and down the hill and not seeing a driver with an “AJs” sign (especially with a toddler and grandparents in tow). Several other tour companies were trying to sell us their tours while I called AJs, he assured me a driver would be there in a few minutes but it definitely started us off on the wrong foot. In all we waited a total of 20 mins from our arrival at the meeting spot until the driver showed. Once he showed all was good and went as expected.
I’d give the animal experience a 5/5 but the transportation situation a 3/5.

We visited in January 2025 and it was wonderful! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility is extremely clean and all of the animals are healthy and well cared for.
The sloths are gentle and socialized, the parrots are hilarious, the macaws are majestic, and the monkeys are the cutest little thugs you’ll ever be mugged by.
The picture package is an amazing deal.
My only regret is that I didn’t see the gift shop or I would definitely have gotten a memento.

we booked our trip to AJ’s directly through the AJ’s website. Upon arriving upon taking a cab to the other side of the big g ill, our driver from AJs was promptly waiting for us. This young man directed the cab to exactly where he was parked so we didn’t have to walk and was so kind to us as we maneuver with rolling walkers. AJ’s is 100% accessible, has accessible bathroom and is fully flat and easy to maneuver through. The staff is amazing and gives guest plenty to time at each station to interact with the animals. This a really fun, reasonable and safe side tour that I have recommended to many others visiting this port. Would HIGHLY recommend!

We visited AJ’s 3/10/25 with our group of 11. Our guide was TEX and the day spent on the Island was way more than we could have ever imagined. AJ’s staff was very friendly and told us a lot about the animals located there. TEX was a great guide and showed us around the island. The entire day was 10/10. We got back to the boat and felt like we saw the entire island. Thank you TEX for an amazing day and treating us like family.

Side note since we weren’t aware: If traveling to the excursion from Mahogany Bay Port you will walk all the way through the square, past the shops to the Taxi port. Pay $2 per person and have them take you outside of the port gates to the AJ’s guide waiting for you. You can also walk it but it is a very steep incline (not recommended for older people or with children) and the walk is approximately 5-10 min from the taxi station. When you finish the excursion the guide is allowed to drop you off directly at the port, they just can not pick you up inside as the excursion is not purchased through the cruise line.
